#470557, "Triplet or Quad Stroller?"

My daughter is only 19 months now and I'm 21 weeks prego with BBB triplets.

I had figured I'd get a triplet stroller as I've heard that most people with 4 this close just let the older child ride and carry one of the babies.

Now that I think about it more though, I have no idea how long a child uses a stroller. I'm a stay at home Mom and I hope that next summer we'll be able to take walks to the park. The triplets won't be ready for that, but I know my daughter would love to play while we watch.

I'm just wondering how long a child normally needs a stroller? Would I be better off getting a Quad so that I'm not trying to carry around a 2 year old in a few years? My daughter will probably be only around 22 months old when the babies are born. (their due date is Dec 4th (40 wks) and my daughter turns 2 on Jan 4th.)

My son was 2 1/2 when the trips were born and I have a quad, a triple, 2 doubles and a 4 car choo choo. We use the triple when we go places that my oldest likes to walk, or can ride in a cart if he gets tired like the grocery store. If we are going somewhere where it will be an all day thing, like the zoo, we use the doubles, since they are more comfy and hold more stuff (plus we don't get as many triplet ocmments). If it's just me going for a walk, I would use the quad, but short walks I've been using the choo choo (the boys love it). I really like having so many choices where I can pick and choose which stroller I want to take.

And the answer your question, my 3 1/2 year old rarely uses a stroller. He will only sit in it if I make him, or he's really tired from a long day of walking.

I was in the same situation and have a single, double, triple and quad. I used the quad for the first year but my older son quickly outgrew it andmade it too heavy for me to push. However, he ALWAYS wanted to be in a stroller if the babies were so if I didn't ahve it he would of cried everywhere. He had and still has a terrible case of missing being the baby and we cannot do anything with the babies without him being treated equally or better. I mostly use my triple decker outside for walks and always have to bring a single jogger for him, still..... So the quad was great for us but used for a limited time.

I got 2 doubles, but found that I never used them. I usually used the triple as it was easy for me to get around by myself. When we were out somewhere big like the zoo, I used a harness for my 2 year old and pushed the triple. I think my 2 year old would have ridden in the stroller then, but quickly (within the first year) outgrew that stage and just walked with the big kids. However, my triplets are now almost 4 and I find it easier to still use the triple stroller in some settings (like very long walks) for them and they don't mind. Although if it is a kid outing they are definately walking. I don't know how heavy a quad would be, so try one out. You would be able to get out by yourself. I don't know how long your 2 year old will want to ride, but if you are planning long walks it might be worth it.
