My mom is coming to watch the babies for me for the school year when I start teaching again. She is my super cheap labor. Hopefully we won't kill eachother since she will be living wioth us! Back to my real question. We already have Britax carseats for the boys for our van. Is there any other carseat beside the sunshine radian that you can fit 3 across a mid sisize car. She has a Dodge Journey. I don't want to buy $220 carseats for her car because she will only be using them to pick up our 5 year old up from the bus stop. I mean she might take the babies out sometimes,but I don't think it will be a whole lot. Is there something out there that is less expensive? Or should I just suck it up and buy them?

We have an Odyssey and the only carseats that fit were Radians. We found them online and got a discount since we bought 3. Good luck. That was 2 years ago, so there might be some new ones that are less expensive.

We bought the Radian 80s (also a couple of years ago), but the Radian 65s are less money. Are your kids bigger weightwise or heightwise? Mine are bigger heightwise and will therefore outgrow the seats far sooner for height than weight (should have thought of that before purchase, but that's another story). We did get a discount for purchasing 3. I would give some consideration to how long she is going to be with you. My Mom came and stayed with us for the better part of the first 15 mo. (and yes, we still are speaking ), but my babies weren't as active then as they are now as toddlers. What I mean is, if you expect her to stay until the point where she might be taking the kids out regularly to a park, the library, a zoo, somewhere where she would need to drive them, I'd just buy the seats now and get the discount.

What website did you guys buy the Radian from that gave you the discount? We are looking to buy 3 in the next month and need the best deal possible!

We bought the Graco Cargo seats which were much cheaper than anything we could find. There is an optional cupholder, but when you take that off, they are only 15 inches across. They fit perfectly across the back seat of our Town and Country.

I had bought 3 Graco seats for my Toyota Camry - I do not recall the model, but they were definately Graco and sold for about $50 each (a few years ago)- it was tight, but they did fit.
